Makélélé to lead Swansea City

CAIRO – 6 November 2017 : Belgian club, K.A.S Eupen announced on Monday that the club have reached an agreement with Swansea City assistant manager, Claude Makélélé, to replace Jordi Condom as the club coach.

Condom has been sacked from managing Eupen after poor results with the club in the Belgian League; Eupen won only two games, Lost eight games and four games ended with a draw to be in the bottom of the league with 10 points.

"You never know if it's the right time to take the step into management, but I've been given a good opportunity and a good project to manage for the next few years," Makélélé told press.

Makélélé, 44, started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Paris Saint Germain before managing French club, Bastia for six months.

Makélélé moved to the Premier League to be Swansea City assistant coach from January 2017 till he joined Eupen.

Makélélé spoke about his period with Swansea, saying “I've learnt a lot at Swansea, but I want to keep learning. This opportunity at Eupen will hopefully enable me to do that.”
