CAIRO – 29 October 2017: Spain lost 5-2 against England in the FIFA U-17 World Cup final in India and missed the opportunity to achieve their first title in the competition. The Spanish team had a great run in the competition despite losing the final.

Barcelona fans, despite their claim for independence from the Spanish kingdom, are the happiest with this Spanish team, as four Barcelona players were regular players in Spain’s campaign to the final. These four players secure a bright future for the Catalan team.

Spain’s top goal scorer in the competition, Abel Ruiz, plays in Barcelona. He scored six goals in the tournament and is expected to earn a place in Barcelona’s first team training sessions soon.

Ruiz’s companion on Spain’s attacking line, Sergi Gomez, also plays for Barcelona, and their partnership in Barcelona had a great impact on Spain in the tournament. Gomez scored 4 goals in the tournament, including Spain’s two goals in the final.

Barcelona fans don’t have to worry anymore about their flanks, as Spain’s right back, Mateu Morey, and Spain’s left back, Juan Miranda, are both Barcelona players, and they will be ready to support the first team if needed.
