CAIRO – 8 October 2017: On Sunday Egypt finds itself in one of the best situations for qualifying to the World Cup; since the national team has only to defeat Congo at Borg Al Arab stadium.

October 8 will be another triumphal day for Egypt beside the October 6, as the national team has a big chance to make 104 million Egyptians happy if they manage to defeat Congo in the game held at Borg Al Arab, 7 p.m. Cairo local time, in the fifth round of the African qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.

Egypt is now the leader of its qualifiers group with nine points meanwhile Uganda comes second with eight, Ghana is third with six points, and Congo has a single point in the fourth and last place. After Sunday’s match there will be only one round in the qualifiers, so if the pharaohs manage to grab victory today, Egypt will not have to wait to the last round.

Millions of Egyptians have been waiting for this day, the day that they listen to their national anthem in the World Cup. The waiting lasted for 27 years so let’s hope that we will not wait longer to watch the first Egyptian football national team in the greatest football championship in the history of the planet, soon to be held in Russia in 2018.
