CAIRO – 28 September 2017: Hossam Ashour will miss the next game against Étoile Sportive du Sahel in the semi-final of the African Champions League scheduled on October 1 at Le Stade Olympique De Sousse.

Al-Ahly’s midfielder and captain Hossam Ashour will not be able to play the next game against Étoile Sportive du Sahel in the semi-final of the African Champions League match scheduled on October 1 at Le Stade Olympique De Sousse, because of an injury in his knee he had suffered from during the last training session on Wednesday.

The medical staff confirmed that Ashour’s injury is a strong bruise in the knee ligaments, consequently it will officially prevent him from supporting Al-Ahly midfield during the important match held on Sunday evening.

Al-Ahly played against Espérance Sportive de Tunis in the quarter-final, they have drawn (2-2) in Alexandria at Borg-Al Arab stadium, and the away game where at Stade olympique de rades, Al-Ahly has achieved an important (2-1) victory there and qualified to the semi-final, Ashour has played the home & away games and his role in Al-Ahly midfield was very important to help the team to qualify, so his disappearance in the semi-final will not be good for Al-Ahly.
