CAIRO– 9 September 2017: The women's junior handball national team beat Mali 33-22 in their fifth match of the African Women’s Junior Handball Championship, hosted by Côte d'Ivoire from September 4-10.

The junior national team defeated Côte d'Ivoire on Monday in their first match 35-33, then beat Algeria on Wednesday 28-20. The Egyptian team had its first loss in their third match against Cape Verde on Thursday 33-22 before defeating Congo 22-20 on Friday.

The Egyptian handball team is led by Rami Abdellatif, the head coach of the team, and includes 16 players: Shaima Waziri, Yasmine Wahid, Malak Shaheen, Yasmin Abdel Rahim, Leia Wail, Leila Sherif, Reem Rabie, Mariam Al Shourbagy, Nourine Ali, Donia Khaled, Tasnim Gamal, Yara Abdel Maqsoud, Nirvana Mohamed, Menatallah Wail and Fatima Khaled.
