CAIRO – 3 September 2017: Uganda’s national team arrived on Sunday in Egypt for the decisive match against Egypt at 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.

Federation of Uganda Football Association “FUFA” President Moses Magogo led 34 Ugandans in their journey to Egypt; with the Ugandan delegation including 20 players chosen by the Ugandan coach Moses Basena.

Basena spoke to FUFA.com before leaving for Egypt saying, “We have left for Egypt with very high hopes of good performance. Playing away from home is a completely different setting but we are ready for the battle.”

Basena’s chosen squad include: Denis Onyango , Ismail Watenga, Benjamin Ochan, Nico Wakiro Wadada, Godfrey Walusimbi, Isaac Isinde, Murushid Juuko, Wasswa Hassan Mawanda, Khalid Aucho, Emmanuel Arnold Okwi, Faruku Miya, Derrick Nsibambi, Joseph Benson Ochaya, Bernard Muwanga, Ivan Ntege, Muzamiru Mutyaba, William Luwagga Kizito, Milton Karisa, Isaac Muleme and Geoffrey Serunkuma.

Uganda defeated Egypt 1-0 on Thursday at Kampala to top the group with 7 points while Egypt stayed with 6 points in second place.
