CAIRO – 17 August 2017: The Egyptian Women’s Basketball Team are finishing their preparations on August 17 for the African Women’s Basketball Championship that, held in Mali from August 18-24.

The Egyptians are ending their preparations on August 17 ahead of their first game in the tournament against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on August 18.

The following players represent the Egyptian Basketball team in the tournament: Mai Halawa, Mena Awad, Nour Talaat, Radwa Salem, Reem Osama, Manar Ehab, Meral Ashraf, Asrar Maged, Rana Abdelzaher, and Tharia Abdelmaksoud.

The tournament is divided into two groups. The first group has the following teams: Mali, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Angola and Central African Republic. On the other hand, Group B has the following teams: Egypt, Senegal, Guinea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria and Mozambique.

The Egyptian women’s team won the Arab Championship after beating Tunisia with a score of 74-62 on August 10.
