CAIRO - 16 August 2017: Egypt lost to Japan 31-30 in the IHF Youth World Cup round 16 on Wednesday. Egypt lost the game despite leading the first half 14-10.

The Egyptian team dominated the match from the first moment, ending the first half four goals ahead, but the Japanese players succeeded in regaining the lead during the second half.

The Japanese team is awaiting the winner between Spain and Poland, while Egypt will play in the placement games.

Egypt has participated in all the competitions since the championship’s inception in 2005. Egypt reached fifth place in the 2007 tournament in Bahrain.

Egyptian coach Basses Mustafa’s chosen squad for the event is made up of Ahmed Khalid, Ahmed Rudy, Moshe Ramadan, Sheehan Bad Allah, Sheriff Essay, Omar Khalid, Khalid Walled, Mohamed Mead, Zia Mahmud, Khalid Essay, Abdurrahman Tasha, Abdurrahman Adel, Omar Sami, Omar Ally, Mohamed Ally, Mohanad Hamdy, Ahmed Hany, Hassan Ahmed, Omar Hanafy, Seif Mohamed, Hazem Mamdouh, Galal Ayman, Moamen Mohamed, Mohamed Sami and Abdelaziz Ehab.

Georgia is hosting the IHF Men’s Youth World Championship for the first time from August 8-20.
