13 August 2017: Hassan Moustafa will stay in his position as International Handball Federation (IHF) president for the fifth consecutive time. Moustafa was first elected to this position in 2000.

IHF will announce Moustafa’s win during the IHF Council meeting held from November 10-13 in Turkey, as no one from the member countries applied to compete against Moustafa.

Moustafa, 73 years old, was first elected to be in charge of IHF in 2000, and since then, he won the IHF countries’ trust, having won the position five times, two of which have been granted by acclamation.

Moustafa’s life is all about handball. He played for 15 years with Al Ahly and represented the national team for ten years.

He also became Al Ahly’s coach and the Egyptian Federation coach, as well as an international referee.

Hassan Moustafa was elected to be Egyptian Handball Federation President for two separate spells, from 1984 to 1992 and from 1996 to 2008.
