CAIRO –9 August 2017: Real Madrid managed to win their second consecutive UEFA Super Cup after beating Manchester United with 2-1 victory on August 8 in the UEFA Super Cup final in Macedonia.

Real Madrid started the match strong having ball possession that allowed them to have several chances that were saved by United’s defense and their goalkeeper David De Gea.

It was not until the 25th minute that Real Madrid’s midfielder score the opening goal in the game for Real Madrid.

Manchester United then tried to react and score the equalizer but they failed to score a goal to end the first half with a 1-0 score to Real Madrid.

The second half started with Real Madrid looking for the second goal and Manchester United looking for the equalizer. After seven minutes of the start of the second half Real Madrid’s attacking player Isco scored Madrid’s second goal in the game.

After 10 minutes of Madrid’s second goal, United reacted and scored their first goal in the game by Romelu Lukaku.

The last 25 minutes of the game saw several chances from both teams; however, the score remained unchanged ending the match in a 2-1 victory to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid managed to win last year’s UEFA Super Cup after beating Spanish team Sevilla with a 3-2 score.
