8 August 2017:Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon sent a farewell message on Sunday to Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, as the latter retires after the 2017 IAAF World Championships in Athletics.

“Every story has its end. And when the beginning is extraordinary, the end has to be one to remember,” Buffon posted with a Bolt photo on his Instagram account.

Usain Bolt finished his last 100-meter race in the 2017 IAAF World Championships in Athletics in London with a bronze medal.

Buffon added, “The fastest man of all times, the lightning of athletics retires. Inevitable. And yet incredible. As it has been his entire career.”

Buffon finished his message with advice for Blot, saying, "But in life you never really stop running. You just do it on a different track. So keep on running Lightning Bolt. While the world still tries to reach you."

Usain Bolt won eight Olympic gold medals at Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016.
