CAIRO – 3 August 2017: Veteran Zamalek player Ahmed Abdel Halim entered intensive care on August 2 as a result of a brain stem stroke.

Zamalek’s former attacking player and director of football at the club, Ahmed Abdel Halim, entered one of Cairo’s private hospitals on August 2 due to a brain stroke he had earlier that morning.

According to Ihab Abdel Halim, the son of the Zamalek legend, doctors managed to remove the blood clot. Zamalek’s former star player is now in intensive care for the next 48 hours, under the observation of doctors, to ensure there are no setbacks or complications.

Ahmed Abdel Halim was the director of football at Zamalek, managed Ghazl el-Mahla and is now managing Minya.
