CAIRO - 1 August 2017: Justin Gatlin, American sprinter, is ready to compete in the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London as he feels young again.

The 35-year-old former Olympic and world champion told reporters, “It is back to the old Justin, like 2004, where I am with the pack and pull away at the finish line. That is how I won my gold." Gatlin was a gold medal winner for the 100 meter race at the 2004 Olympic Games.

Gatlin spoke about his rivalry with Usain Bolt saying, “I have never been one not to believe in my own self, but at the end of the day I have to pay homage to him.”

Speaking about Bolt’s quality he noted, “I have got to give Usain respect because one of the best things about him is not only that he runs fast, but that he runs fast at the moment he needs to.”

London hosts the 2017 World Athletics Championships from August 4 -13.
