CAIRO - 28 July 2017: Egypt faces Mexico on Friday to decide places 9 to 16 of the Women’s under 19 (U19) Basketball World Cup; Egypt hopes to achieve their second win of the tournament.

Egypt lost 85-43 to China in the round of 16 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mexico lost to Canada 64-43.

Radwa Sherif was the best Egyptian player in the game against China with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Egypt plays in Group B alongside Russia, Spain and Puerto Rico. The women’s team had one win against Puerto Rico and two losses with Russia and Spain. Their win against Puerto Rico qualified them to the round of 16, but they lost to China.

Italy host , for the first time, the 12th edition of the competition that takes places from July 22 to 30 in Udine and Cividale del Friuli.

With six consecutive titles, the U.S. has won a total of seven titles in their history of participation; the Soviet Union won the first two editions while Australia and the Czech Republic have each won the title once.
