The club said in a statement Tuesday that the footballer’s health condition will be periodically followed up until he can return to play matches.

The club thanked all segments of the Egyptian society who unceasingly supported the 30-year-old footballer over the past period.

Last month Refaat was rushed to hospital after he collapsed on pitch with two minutes remaining in his side’s Egyptian Premier League match against Ittihad and his heart stopped for an hour.

In a recorded video footage posted by his club, he warmly thanked fans for their support during his health crisis, reassuring them that the harder period is now over and that his condition has significantly been stable.
