CAIRO, 28 December 2023: The English Football Association decided to suspend Sam Morsi, captain of Ipswich Town and Egyptian national team player, for one match with immediate effect.

This came because of his comments on the referee of his team’s match against Middlesbrough, which was held on December 9 in the English Championship.

Ipswich Town's official website explained on Wednesday that Sam Morsi accepted the punishment, and he and the club would not make any statements about it.

Ipswich Town & Egypt’s midfielder, Sam Morsy, bravely spoke up on Gaza after his team draw against Leicester City on December 26th in the English championship:

“We've got the privilege to be here. 30,000 and an amazing team, while the plight continues in Palestine”.

Sam Morsi played 23 matches for Ipswich Town this season, scoring 3 goals and providing two assists.
