CAIRO, December 25, 2023: As part of the twenty-first edition of the Egyptian Super Cup, the Egyptian League champion Al-Ahly and the League Cup winner Ceramica Cleopatra are set to face off on Monday on the field of Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the Emirati capital of Abu Dhabi in an important encounter to defend the title.

The Egyptian league's runner-up, Pyramids, and its opponent, Modern Future—whose morale was much boosted by the return of its Cameroonian left defender, Jonathan Nguem—are among the four clubs making their debuts.

After the previous editions witnessed a single match between the league and cup champions, the Egyptian Super Cup football competition will begin in its new twenty-first edition for the first time with the participation of four clubs: Al-Ahly, the defending champion, Ceramica Cleopatra, Pyramids, and Modern Future.

Future was replaced by Zamalek, who was excluded from the competition due to being punished for withdrawing from the previous edition.

The organizing committee announced the tournament prizes, with the winner getting $250,000, the runner-up getting $125,000, the third getting $75,000, and the fourth getting $50,000.
