Zamalek defeated Abu Selim 1-0 in the CAF Confederation Cup

CAIRO, November 27, 2023: Zamalek SC earned a hard 1-0 victory over Libya`s Abu Selim, in the match that brought them together on Sunday evening, at Burj Al-Arab Stadium, in the first round of the group stage matches of the African Confederation Cup.

 

In the 73rd minute, Youssef Obama succeeded in scoring the lead goal for his team with a header after a corner kick taken by Ahmed Zizo.

 

With this result, Zamalek wins the first three points, and rises to the top of its group, which includes Angola’s Sagrada, Guinea’s Sawar, and Libyan Abu Salim.

 

The Zamalek Board of Directors, headed by Hussein Labib, was keen to be present in the main stands of Borg Al Arab Stadium, to support the team and the technical staff at the beginning of the group stage journey of the African Confederation Cup.

 

The Zamalek formation included: Goalkeeper: Mohamed Awad, Defense line: Mohamed Abdel Shafi - Mohamed Abdel Ghani - Hamza Mathlouthi, Midfield: Nabil Imad Dunga - Amr El-Sisi - Sayed Abdullah “Neymar” - Ibrahima Ndiay, Offensive line: Ahmed Mustafa “Zizou” - Youssef Obama - Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala”.
