CAIRO –13 July 2017: The Egyptian National Sumo Team will participate in the 10th Sumo World Games in Wroclaw, Poland, scheduled July 21-30, 2017. The team will be led by Coach Ahmed Khalifa.

The national sumo team takes part in the tournament with five players: Ramy Abdel Ati, Ibrahim Abdel Latif, Hussam Fathi, Fathi Abu Rukab and Abdul Rahman sl-Saifi, according to Super Kora.

The tournament is considered the strongest competition in sumo sport.

The best 16 players in every weight are selected with the best results every 4 years.

Sumo is often thought to be a typically Japanese sport, but similar forms of competition are found in countries of the former Soviet Union and in North and South Korea;

however, nowadays most of the world’s countries have started to play the sport and participate in its international competitions.
