CAIRO – 10 July 2017 Mido, Zamalek’s former player and coach, spoke about the team’s current situation on July 10.

Zamalek SC exited the CAF Champions League on July 9 after failing to qualify from the group stages.

Mido spoke to Egyptian Radio about whether or not he could coach Zamalek, the team’s knock out from the CAF Champions League group stage, and his opinion on Zamalek’s coach Augusto Inacio.

Speaking to the radio, Mido said, “Inacio coached Zamalek in a very difficult situation. I think there should be a new coach appointed for Zamalek.

This coach should build a new team and should work in a good atmosphere.”

Speaking about Zamalek’s last match with Ahli Tripoli, Mido said, “I didn’t expect this to happen. There were many problems surrounding the team that caused the team to be knocked out.”

Mido ended his talk by saying, “Zamalek’s players aren’t the only ones responsible for being knocked out of the tournament. Zamalek’s board should be responsible too.

Zamalek’s board should take a decision to leave if they remove too many managers next season. If they continue acting the same, Al-Ahly will remain the best club in Egypt and Zamalek will only win a trophy every 10 years.”

Mortada Mansour, Zamalek’s president, is set to meet with Inacio on July 10 to discuss all the important issues regarding the team.
