CAIRO – 9 July 2017: The Egyptian Hockey team opens the Hockey World League’s third round matches on Sunday against Belgium. Egypt plays in Pool B alongside Ireland, Belgium, Germany and the host country, South Africa.

Egypt qualified for the third round after coming in third place during the World League second round held in Dhaka, Bangladesh last march.

The Egyptian squad includes 18 players : Ezz Ahmed, Mansour Mostafa, Atef Karim, Ibrahim Amr, Gamal Ahmed, Sayed Amr, Said Ashraf, Ahmed El Naggar, Ragab Mohamed, Mamdouh Mahmoud, Mohsen Ahmed, Nasr Mohamed, El-Ganini Ahmed, Zaki Mohamed, Mohamed Gad Elkarim, Houssam Ghobran, Ahmed Adel and Wael NourEldin, and Ali el-Shorbagy is the team head coach.

Egypt will play against Germany on Tuesday, Ireland on Thursday, and the last group match will be against South Africa on Saturday.

Egypt hopes to earn one of the qualifying positions for IHF World Cup 2018 in Bhubaneswar, India. The World Cup begins on November 24 and ends on December 16, 2018.
