CAIRO-2 September 2021: Egyptian Premier League stars, Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Elneny, will support the national team against Gabon on Sunday in Game 2 of the World Cup Qualifiers, according to a source in the national team.
The duo missed Egypt's opening game in the qualifications against Angola on Wednesday as their clubs refused to release them to avoid 10-day quarantine on their return to England from countries included in the UK's red-list.
Salah shared a photo on Wednesday while watching Egypt's match against Angola and for sure he was not happy with the team's performance despite the victory.
Egypt plays in Group F of the qualifications alongside Angola,. Gabon and Libya.
Egypt and Libya share the top of the group with three points each and both teams are having a tough test away from home in the next round as Libya faces Angola in Luanda while the Pharaohs will take on Gabon in Liberville.
The group winner will reach the final stage of the qualifications alongside other 9 group winners. They will compete in five knockout matches to decide the five nations that will represent Africa in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
