CAIRO-1 April 2021: Egypt men's handball team are expecting a tough mission in 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in the next summer.

The Pharaohs were drawn in Group B alongside Denmark, Sweden, Portugal, Japan and Bahrain.

In Group A, the European superpowers, France, Germany, Norway and Spain, will challenge the promising South American teams, Brazil and Argentina.

The top four teams of each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

Tokyo Olympic Games will be the 7th appearance for the Pharaohs. Egypt competed in the Olympics for the first time in Barcelona 1992 and their best achievement came four years later when they finished 6th in Atalanta.

The Egyptian handball fans believe that the Egyptian team is now able to secure a medal in the next Olympics after the sensational performance of the Pharaohs in 2021 World Championship, which was held at home in January.

Egypt were knocked out in the quarter-finals against the eventual champions, Denmark, after a thrilling game, which was decided by penalty shootouts.
