Egyptian Ministers and 30 ambassadors take part in bike marathon in Sharm El Sheikh to celebrate World Tourism Day- press photo
CAIRO- 25 September 2020: With the participation of 30 ambassadors to Cairo, the Ministry of Tourism, and Antiquities organized on Friday morning a one-hour bike marathon in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, South Sinai to celebrate the World Tourism Day, which is due to on September 27.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani and Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar participated in the marathon, which comes on the sidelines of Anani’s visit to Sharm el-Sheikh, along with other ministers, according to a statement from the Tourism and Antiquities.
The marathon was also attended by Ambassador Badr Abdel Aty, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs, and Ahmed Al-Wasif, President of the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Tourism.
The participants took streets of Sharm el-Sheikh and passed by picturesque beaches, and distinguished tourist attractions.
The Ambassador of Cameroon won first place in the Marathon, and he was promised by Anani to be the first one who would see the new archaeological discovery in the Saqqara area when it will be announced early October.
German ambassador in Cairo Cyrill Nunn proposed to hold an international bike competition in Sharm El-Sheikh.
