CAIRO - 30 July 2017: There are several questions that foreign travelers sometimes ask themselves such as whether Egypt is safe? and is it safe for a woman? It turned out to be that it is safe enough for a Dutchwoman to walk on her own in Cairo – a city that never sleeps.

What kind of people one would expect to be walking on the streets past midnight? In Cairo, not drunk people, but families and children. Some even claim that Egypt in that sense is safer than many European countries.

Let’s hear what Dionne Görtzen has to say about safety in Egypt. She is a Dutchwoman who teaches German in Cairo, and is traveling her way across the country.
