As we all know, Ramadan gives us all the perfect chance to indulge in our favorite foods after fasting. From the Samobsak that is loved by all to the infamous Konafa with all its variations, losing weight during the holy month can be tricky. But we have some simple tips to help you lose weight before Eid, so let us get started!

1. Go for a walk before Iftar
While some may underestimate walking as a method to lose weight, it is actually very effective especially an hour before Iftar, this will make your body burn extra calories stored in your body. If you feel too exhausted before iftar, then you can switch it to after breaking your fast and incorporate any exercises you like.

2. Portion control
Be mindful of your portion during Iftar and Suhoor. It's easy to overeat after fasting, so listen to your body's hunger and fullness cues.  Whenever you feel full, even at the slightest, take some rest and continue eating after you get hungry again.

3. Try to limit snacks
You might think a couple of Qatayef pieces won't hurt, right? Well, snacking a couple of hours after Iftar especially if the snacks are solely sugary or fried will spike up your insulin levels, making you feel hungry even more, thus eating more than you should. Limiting snacks and only eating in Suhoor will help you lose weight efficiently.

4. Have a balanced Iftar
When you break your fast, drink with two cups of water, and soup (optional), then start eating lean proteins like chicken and a generous amount of veggies. This method will help you feel fuller faster, and limit your carb intake.

While we try to give helpful tips to lose weight, it is crucial to remember that you should never skip meals, or any essential nutrients to keep your body balanced and healthy. Take baby steps to achieve your goals.
