In this holy month of Ramadan, everything seems to be calm and peaceful. People get giddy with excitement when Ramadan arrives due to its holiness and zen vibes that it brings. With that in mind, it’s important to use this month as a way to change our bad habits and turn a new leaf. To become a peaceful and well-mannered person, in this article, we’ll guide you on ways to prepare for Ramadan spiritually in hopes of coming out enlightened and satisfied.

Reflect on Your Actions
What makes Ramadan great is that one of its essences is about reflecting on past actions and words. It gives people the chance to look back, feel remorse, and work their way to become better people. Everyone makes mistakes, that’s part of being human, but what Ramadan’s atmosphere provides is the ability to rise above and learn more about how to strengthen your weaknesses and fix your flaws.

Give to Charity and visit orphanages
Ramadan is about giving back to society and being charitable.
Seeing less fortunate people is devastating, but a contribution from you, no matter how insignificant you think it is, can make a difference.
Speaking of small things that can make a difference, kids who have lost their parents have a hard time enjoying Ramadan without their families as they feel alone and depressed.  So understanding what they’ve gone through, it’s your turn to step in and visit orphanages. Go and bring new clothes, and food, and play with them, these small actions will make their lives better in ways you couldn’t imagine.

Control Your Anger
We understand that sometimes it’s hard to stay quiet and choose silence instead of speaking up and letting out all your anger. But Ramadan is about being peaceful, turning the other cheek, and not engaging in fights and gossip.

Adjust Your Home to Be a Sanctuary
Any sort of worship or spirituality should be in a place that is set up to be a haven. So if you want to make your Quran reciting more peaceful and with no distractions, adjust your home to make it more lively and wholesome. Some subtle lights, play the Quran on the radio, put on some prayer rugs, and decorate your home.

Do Random Acts of Kindness
A random act of kindness like a compliment or calling a long-distance relative can make a person’s day. Ramadan is about sharing joy and spreading kindness to everyone, so simple and random acts of kindness fit well with Ramadan spirituality.
