On the occasion of its 90th anniversary, founded in May ,1932, EGYPTAIR became the first established company  in the Middle East and Africa and the seventh in the world.

For the first time, the Council of Ministers approves the issuance of commemorative circulating coins (one pound and fifty piaster coins) in the Egyptian market for a national commercial company , which is  EGYPTAIR with the slogan of 90 years . 

 

This issuance is to commemorate and document this occasion within the framework of the state's keenness to support the national institutions and document the historical events as well as the national projects.

 

 

 EGYPTAIR is one of the few companies in the world that still exists and operates in the field of air transport industry until now, while many other companies  were unable to survive because of the challenges that the industry witnessed throughout its history , the last of which was the Corona virus pandemic.  

 

The decision to issue these coins with their distinctive design reflects the appreciation for the long history of EGYPTAIR over the 90 years since its establishment, the first flight attempts by the early pioneers, the development of the service level, the stages of fleet modernization, the expansion of the company's activity , its route network, and its joining Star Alliance which is the world's largest global airline alliance. 

 

 

 

 As its annual custom, EGYPTAIR celebrates on May 7 of each year with travelers and customers by providing souvenirs, discounts and launching an advertising campaign for this event.
