CAIRO – 11 July 2017: EgyptAir will join on Wednesday the list of airlines that have recently been exempted from the U.S. ban on electronic devices on board of their aircrafts, following flights from Abu Dhabi and Amman.

Meanwhile, the ban continues on EgyptAir flights to London, according to a Tuesday statement by EgyptAir.

Aviation Minister Sherif Fathi welcomed the decision, emphasizing that the ministry has been coordinating with Cairo International Airport to win the ban lift.

The U.S. had imposed the ban in March on ten airports in eight countries in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as Turkey. The ban was lifted in Abu Dhabi and Amman on July 3 and 10, respectively.

The ban lift in the said countries came after inspection from U.S. officials and new enhanced security measures at the airports.
