CAIRO – 1 March 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that there is a difference between commercial theaters and state theaters, noting that state theaters operate at full capacity with the application of the 50 percent rate of attendees. None of the state theatres have been closed.

Abdel Dayem added that spreading culture is not only limited to the ministry; it is a task that all forces must join hands to fulfill, and that the media particularly plays a significant role in that regard. The minister also emphasized that the commercial theater suffers from production difficulties.

Moreover, Abdel Dayem said in a phone call to Osama Kamal’s program “90-Minutes” aired on Al-Mehwar Channel, that there is a high turnout from the Tanta audience for the "The Optimist” theatrical show, adding that the ministry started moving outside of Cairo through the mobile theaters project.
