1- How long have you been working with Emirates Airline?

I’ve been with Emirates for almost eight years and half.

2- How many countries have you visited? Which is your favourite?

I’ve visited over 60 destinations and still counting. My favourite so far is Greece and Italy.

3- How did you initially learn about the opportunity to become a member of Emirates Airline’s Cabin Crew?

I’ve always wanted to be a cabin crew since I was young, when I saw Emirates cabin crew at the airports. There was something very elegant and sophisticated about them which made me think, one day I would like to be a member of the Emirates cabin crew team. When I graduated from college, I immediately applied online.

4- Could you tell us more about your experience with Emirates Airlines? How has it been so far? What are the key points in working as a cabin crew in Emirates and what makes your job so enjoyable?

My experience has been great, eight years has passed by quickly, it seems time flies when you are travelling around the world and enjoying every minute of it. A few key points working as a cabin crew is being a confident and positive person, as you meet people from different parts of the world. At Emirates, we always want our passengers to have a great experience on board, so we become problem solvers, ensuring they are kept happy at all times and safety conscious. What I enjoy the most in what I do, is that I am always meeting new interesting people every day, who become friends for life.

5-As a woman who is traveling a lot for a living what do you consider to be the hardest thing about that? And how do you manage?

The most hardest thing can be the jet lag, it’s like time travel. I manage this by making sure I get the rest I need, sleeping on time, based on my flight schedule. I also workout, drink lots of water and maintain a healthy diet, which helps a lot when adjusting to different time zones. As cabin crew, we are also going through training to help us maintain a healthy lifestyle which also helps.

6- What advice would you give young women applying or starting their career as cabin crew members?

The main advice is to understand the importance of customer service and becoming a team player, also being a good communicating skills is essential.

7- What is the most difficult situation you have faced during your career?

I would say being away from home and missing my family and some special occasions. As we fly to so many destinations, we may miss a few celebrations although we still have an advantage as we get to make so many friends from around the world and they become family as well. We get to learn a lot by exploring different destinations and understanding cultures, we always share these stories when we visit family and friends back home.

8- Do you think that working as a cabin crew suits women more?

Being a cabin crew suits women and men. I have both male and female friends at Emirates who are cabin crew, it’s a personal choice to become a cabin crew.
