Ahmed Helmy’s 'Khayaal Maata' to screen in Eid al Adha

CAIRO - 17 July 2019: The Egyptian movie “Khayal Maata”, starring Ahmed Helmy, Mena Shalaby, Khaled el Sawy, Hassan Hosni, Intisar and Lotfi Labib, is scheduled to be released in Eid al-Adha. The film is written by Abdel Rahim Kamal and directed by Khaled Marei.

The film's name has been changed from “El-Shebak el-Azraq” (Blue window) to “Khayal Maata” (Scarecrow). The film's events take place in the 1960s, and focus on a decorator named Zizo, a paranoid man who suspects everyone around him.

The events begin with the character of Helmi, an old man who lives in the new millennium, narrating his story and his memories as a young man, and the sufferings he encountered. Helmi also tells the story of how he met his love, Pakinam, revealing the methods he used to marry his beloved.

Tamer Hosny is set to present the theme song of the film which is written by Ayman Bahgat Amar.

It is worth mentioning that Helmy's latest film, "Laf we Dawaran" (Turning in circles), which starred Donia Samir Ghanem, Jamila Awad, Sabreen and Inaam Salousa, achieved great success at the time of its release. “Laf we Dawaran” is directed by Khaled Marei.
