CAIRO - 20 February 2019: Aswan International Women’s Film Festival's third edition will kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 20 and will run until Feb. 26. Thirty two films will compete in the festival’s long and short film competition.
Numerous celebrities arrived in Aswan to witness the opening ceremony, including Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Bassem Samra, Ahmed Wafik, Yousra el-Lozy, Dorra, Madline Tabar, Jihane Khalil, Reem el-Baroudi, Randa el-Behery and Rami Gheit.
Also, directors Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Ismail Farouk and Amro Abdeen will be among the attendees.
Advisor to the Minister of Culture for Cinema Affairs and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Artistic Works Khalid Abdul Jalil will also attend the opening ceremony, along with film producer Mohamed el-Adl and film critic Tarek el-Shennawy.
Veteran actress Mohsena Tawfik, actress Menna Shalabi and veteran world star Barbara Bouchet will be honored during the opening ceremony of the festival’s third edition.
In addition, five women who have had many cinematic contributions will be honored.
