CAIRO – 31 July 2018: The Ministry of Culture will be sending the Cairo Opera House's concerts to the Chinese city of Sheng Du to mark the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the Egyptian-Chinese diplomatic relations, said President of the External Cultural Relations, Heba Youssef.

Youssef added that Minister of Culture, Enas Abdel Dayem, accepted the opera’s suggestion to hold artistic concerts in Sheng Du on August 1 to 8, 2018.

Abdel Dayem added that the cultural and historical relations between Egypt and China, which began in 1956, contributed to strengthening the diplomatic relations between the two countries. On July 1, the Cairo Opera House, in cooperation with the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, put on a music concert, dubbed "Sound of the Nile", featuring Yao Hong, a Chinese famous soprano and an award-winning national actress.
