CAIRO – 7 May 2017: The Ministry of Culture has organized many cultural and artistic activities for various age groups and interests across the country on Sunday, May 7. Here is an overview of the activities taking place across the country.

Several events are being held especially for children in different governorates. The General Authority for Cultural Palaces organized workshops for environmental crafts and ceramics in Beni Suef’s branch from May 7-11. The workshops include training on how to use raw materials to create artwork.

Meanwhile, at the Fayoum branch, the cultural empowerment section is holding a children's accessories workshop, and the Children's Library in Abshway organized a children's drawing workshop and planned a visit to the Construction Workers Syndicate to raise awareness about the importance of trade union participation.

Cairo residents interested in music and literature also have a fair chance of attending some engaging events.

The Cairo Symphony Orchestra will give a concert at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Main Hall in addition to the "Wahabiat" concert at the Arab Music Institute, also at 8 p.m.

The Supreme Council of Culture organized its 4th symposium of the series “Literary Issues” entitled “Arabic Literature Translation.” Another session entitled “The Media Role in Developing Legal Culture Awareness to Combat Terrorism” will be held at 6 p.m. at the Arts Hall.

Furthermore, “The People's Army: the Full Picture” book, which was written by a group of intellectuals, innovators and researchers, will be discussed at Conference Secretariat Unit of the Supreme Council of Culture at 6 p.m.

The Arab House of Poetry at Al-Azhar organized a poetry evening with a group of poets at 7 p.m.

The fine arts sector, in cooperation with the Foreign Cultural Relations Sector and the President of the Egyptian Caricature Association, will open the 4th International Caricature Forum at 7 p.m. at the Palace of Arts at the Cairo Opera House.
