CAIRO – 6 December 2017: The 2nd edition of the Global Migration Film Festival kicked off on Tuesday, and will continue until December 18.

IOM organises the festival to pay tribute to the many films that capture the beauty and challenges of migration, bringing these real experiences to audiences around the world.
IOM chose December 5 to launch the festival in about 85 countries around the world including Egypt, to coincide with the observance of IOM’s 65th anniversary on the same day.

IOM and the UN media office in Cairo will screen the movie "Onshouda le Soria" (A Song to Syria) as part of the festival screenings. The movie screening will be followed by a seminar discussing migration challenges and obstacles.

It is worth mentioning that the Global Migration Film Festival is part of the UN campaign "Together" that promotes respecting refugees and ensuring their safety.
