CAIRO – 31 October 2017: The 10th festival for handcrafts was inaugurated on Sunday, featuring a unique selection of oriental heritage handcrafts and products.
Culture Minister Helmy al-Namnam stated in a press release on Monday that the annual festival is meant to emphasize the Egyptian society’s identity and revive the heritage of the country, preserving and incorporating it in daily lives.

The festival is organized by the Fine Arts Sector at Mahmoud Mokhtar center, the Culture Development Fund, and a number of art amateurs.
Heritage products and handcrafts participating in this festival are best known for being products of cultural exchange, including products featuring Photonic Heliography and products from the heritage towns in El-Fustat.

The opening ceremony featured a documentary entitled “Sinai the Heart of Egypt,” handcrafts workshops, and a fine arts exhibition. A folkloric Tanoura band also performed a short segment in the ceremony.
