CAIRO – 19 October 2017: The Egyptian independent ensemble Medley Quartet will perform at the Jesuits Cultural Center in Alexandria on October 21.

Medley Quartet is an ensemble of four friends based in Alexandria, formed in 2015.

Having a profound musical background, the ensemble covers a number of classic, tango, pop, rock and soundtracks. The “Game of Thrones” and “Grand Hotel” soundtracks are amongst the more popular covers by Medley Quartet.

It consists of Salma Balba and Shadan Osama on violin, Nouran Hossam on viola, and Mohamed El Sayegh on cello.

The ensemble has performed before at Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Oufuqy Music Forum's sixth edition kicked off on October 16.

A number of venues host the activities of the festival such as Atelier Alexandria, Teatro Alexandria, The French Institute in Alexandria, and Jesuits in Alexandria Cultural Center.

The forum is named “Oufuqy” because it follows the horizontal approach to give the audience the opportunity to integrate the festival into their daily activities, according to Oufuqy Music Forum’s official Facebook page.

A number of underground and independent artists will partake in the festival such as Fatma Adel, Do’souka and Looperia.
