CAIRO – 1 August 2017: The first edition of Sharm el-Sheikh Asian and African festival for cinema, arts and tourism will be launched on September 14-20, 2017 to discover the culture and places of every country.

The festival led by the actress Soheir al-Morshedi and Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization presided by the former Minister of Health Dr. Helmy el-Hadidy will hold workshops and meetings to make all preparations of the first edition entitled “Egypt is safe; able to combat terrorism.”

At the same time, it is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Arab League, Tourism Promotion Authority, southern Sinai Governorate and Russian, Chinese as well as Indonesian Cultural Center.

The international actor of African origin ‘Louis Jost Junior,’ an Oscar winner for the film El-Sadat, has agreed to attend the first edition of the festival as a guest.

He is the first actor that stood against discrimination between the white and the black confirming that through the video he has sent to the festival management to express his pleasure in participating especially that the festival is the first Asian and African festival between the black and white continents. He was wearing in the video white T-shirt with “no discrimination” printed on it.

The festival management has chosen the film ‘United Kingdom’ nominated for several awards to be the opening film in the festival.

‘United Kingdom’ produced by UK, Czech and U.S. in 2016 is about a real story in 1940s when the black prince of Botswana has married a white woman from London, affecting greatly his kingdom and causing lots of problems.
