Sherif Fathy, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, has officially announced an upcoming increase in ticket prices for the Grand Egyptian Museum, one of the country’s most anticipated cultural landmarks.
The new pricing structure will apply to both Egyptian visitors and foreign tourists and is set to take effect on November 1, 2026.
Under the revised rates, Egyptian visitors will see a modest increase, with ticket prices rising from 200 EGP to 220 EGP.
Meanwhile, foreign tourists will experience a slightly higher adjustment, with entry fees increasing from $30 to $35.
The ministry stated that the changes come as part of ongoing efforts to support the museum’s operations, maintain its world-class facilities, and enhance the overall visitor experience.
The Grand Egyptian Museum, located near the Giza Pyramids, draws thousands of visitors annually, showcasing an unparalleled collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the full treasures of Tutankhamun.
Officials emphasized that despite the price increase, the museum will continue to offer exceptional value given the scale, significance, and immersive experience it provides.
This move aligns with broader strategies to strengthen Egypt’s tourism sector while ensuring sustainable management of its cultural heritage sites.
