The TV program Egypt Can presented by veteran TV host Ahmed Fayek, highlights the remarkable success story of Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab. His journey began in 1997 when he enrolled as a student in the Faculty of Computers and Information. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become a professor at the same faculty and one of the most prominent computer science scholars worldwide.
Dr. Abdel Wahab achieved a breakthrough by developing an innovative solution that qualified him for one of the most prestigious global competitions in the field of software, with participants from 120 countries around the world. He has since been recognized as one of the top 11 programming professors globally.
His journey was far from easy. It was marked by determination and resilience, especially as a person with disabilities, making his success story even more inspiring.
During his interview with Ahmed Fayek on the TV program Egypt Can, Professor of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Wahab, revealed that the secret behind his success lies in his early passion for computer science.
He explained that his interest in the field began as early as the third grade of primary school. From that point on, his father played a crucial role in nurturing this passion by providing him with all the tools and support needed to understand and explore the world of computing. Notably, his father bought him a Sakhr computer at the time, which greatly contributed to shaping his future path.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab’s mother spoke about her son on the TV program Egypt Can, saying: “Mohamed has been a source of pride for the whole family. Since he was born, he has always smiled at life and had a strong will.”
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab is the first Egyptian and the first programming coach in the Middle East and Africa to win the global Lifetime Coach Award.
During the program, his colleagues and students also shared their admiration, expressing how deeply impressed they are by Abdel Wahab’s inspiring journey and determination.
Abdel Wahab also delivered a powerful message, saying: “Disability is not in the body. Disability is when you can’t do what you want. I was able to do what I wanted, so I don’t see myself as disabled.”
