A new journey for the film "Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo" begins this Tuesday evening in the UAE, specifically at Aqil Cinema in Dubai, the first independent cinema in the Gulf. The film will have two additional screenings on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, February 5th and 6th.

On Thursday, February 6th, the film will also be screened as part of the second edition of "Wadi Cinema" in Saudi Arabia, specifically in Riyadh's capital. The screening will take place at 7:00 PM, followed by a discussion session with the film's director, Khaled Mansour, moderated by Saudi critic Ahmed Al-Ayad, between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

Afterwards, the film will head to the United States, where it will have its U.S. premiere as part of the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California. It is among the official selections alongside films from around the world. The film will have three screenings: the first on Sunday, February 9th, at 9:00 PM at Riviera Cinema; the second on the morning of Tuesday, February 11th, at the Film Center; and the final screening on Friday, February 14th, at 4:30 PM in the same venue.

Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo revolves around "Hassan," a thirty-something young man who rediscovers himself and is forced to confront the fears of his past during his journey to save his dog and only friend, "Rambo," from an uncertain fate after being involved in a serious accident through no fault of his own. Overnight, he becomes pursued by Kareem, Hassan's neighbour, and all the residents of the neighbourhood.

The film reveals many details about Hassan's life and his relationships with those around him.

This film is the first feature-length work by director Khaled Mansour, who has previously directed several short films that have participated in regional and local festivals. Mansour co-wrote the screenplay with writer and screenwriter Mohamed El-Husseini.

The film stars Essam Omar in his first cinematic role, alongside Rakeen Saad, Sama Ibrahim, and Ahmed Bahaa, one of the founders of the musical group Sharmoofers, in his acting debut. The film also features several young faces and guest stars.

Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo is produced by Mohamed Hafez through Film Clinic and producer Rasha Hosny, who is venturing into feature film production for the first time, alongside her successful career in film criticism and programming at several major international film festivals.
