“Wayne Serna?”, is a film directed and produced by superstar Dorra in her first experience as both a director and producer.

The 79-minute film tells the story of Nadine, a young woman from Gaza, who arrives in Egypt with her twin baby daughters, whom she gave birth to just months before the war after five years of trying to conceive.

“Wayne Serna?” will compete alongside 13 other films in the same competition category.

Dorra made this feature length documentary to support the Palestinians and their cause.

In a post, Dorra wrote, "It is an honor and a joy to have my film, Wayne Serna? officially selected for the Cairo International Film Festival. This feature-length documentary is the most important and heartfelt cinematic and human experience for me, through which I attempted to convey their story, voice, and emotions. Because death surrounded them, they deserve life; because they were forced to flee, yet they deserve a homeland. I wanted to put all my love and effort into immortalizing this pivotal moment and leave a mark, however small, against the erasure of their story. They are not numbers; to me, they are beautiful, resilient, and deserving. I wanted them to be the heroes of my first film as a director and producer. Thank you to everyone who believed in and supported the film in any way and to the entire team of this unique project. I hope it reaches as many people as possible."

Dorra is now the first actress from her generation to make her directorial debut with a documentary film.

Dorra previously competed in CIFF's International Competition with “A Murder Image”, directed by Karim El-Adl and written by Amr Salama, where she starred alongside Eyad Nassar. She also participated in the Arab competition with a Tunisian film, “Bab El Falla”, and has served as a jury member in several Cairo festival committees over the years.
