The Goat Film Reaps Five Awards From Three Different International Film Festivals

Director Ilaria Borrelli’s film The Goat, added five new awards to its list of achievements from three international film festivals.
 
 
The film received the Best Original Story award at the Swedish International Film Festival, Best Women’s Film at the 4th Dimension Independent Film Festival, and the Best Film on Women-Feature Film, Best Director, and Best International Feature Film at the Indo French International Film Festival.
 
 
 
The production company announced donating the revenues of the screenings of The Goat in Rome to help the children of Gaza through the Action Aid foundation.
 
 
This announcement followed the positive acclaim that the film received during its premiere within the Alice Nella Citta competition, held during the Rome Film Festival.
 
It is worth mentioning that The Goat is the first Egyptian film to participate in this competition.
 
The film tells the story of a young girl who becomes the target of a Western corporation’s greed as they seek to control the only water source in her village.
 
 
Hadiya escapes into the desert with her goat on a dangerous journey in search of her father.
 
The Goat stars John Savage, Mira Sorvino, Amr Saad, Sayed Ragab, Jessica Hossam, Maya Talem, and Arfa Abdel Rasoul. With the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the film is written and directed by Ilaria Borrelli.
 
 
 
The film’s crew includes DOP David Vlastis, Costume Designer Andrea Sorrentino, Production Designer Ahmed Fayez, and the two-time Oscar nominated Make-up Artist and Special Effects Designer Vittorio Sodano.
