Acclaimed Egyptian rapper Wegz was featured in an article in The New York Times titled “Aiming To Make Arab Hip-Hop Global”.
 
 
“The Egyptian artist Wegz has become a streaming star without a full album” stated the article.
 
 
Wegz donated portion of his international tour revenue for Palestinian relief.

 

Wegz — dubbed the most listened to rapper in recent years in Egypt by multiple streaming platforms — performed in the closing concert of New Alamein Festival on September 1.

 
 
Wegz is the first Arab artist who made a global tour with Live Nation company.
 
 
The popular Egyptian rapper is the first Arab singer cooperating with the giant company who has cooperated with top notch stars including Harry Styles, The Weekend among others.
 
 
 

 
 
During the tour Wegz performed in the world’s most prestigious venues including Apollo Theater in London and NYC’s Terminal 5.
 
Wegz recently performed live at Zed East in New Cairo on June 23.
 
 
 
Wegz manager announced to some media outlets that Wegz will perform only two concerts in Egypt this year.
 
It is worth mentioning that Wegz released a song titled “Ezz El Arab” (Arabs Glory) celebrating World Cup 2022, which was held for the first time in an Arab country.
 
 
 
Wegz performed this song which highlighted the Arab unity during the World Cup in Qatar to be the first Egyptian singer to sing in the most prestigious sport event in the world.
 
 
 
 
 
In 2022 and for the third year in a row, Wegz was listed as the top artist in Spotify list in Egypt and the region.
