Acting teams of Faculty of Commerce Ain Shams University will perform the play written and directed by Mahmod Gamal.

It is the first black and white theatre discussing the first time the camera was used in cinema. It was used during youth director Mounir Fared’s visit to Day el-Kamr village in Sharkia, Egypt in 1930. They produced the first film with sound. The village did not understand the camera and they refused to help produce the film. They thought that the camera was a weapon and refused to perform.

The authority at that time made use of this ignorance. Consequently, the village faced and attacked the director because they saw the camera as a problem.

Cinema 30 has 30 amateur actors participating. It has won the best show prize and the best director prize at the 10th session of major Acting Festival of Ain Shams University.

The Egyptian National Theatre Festival aims to present one of the most successful performances to revive the Egyptian theatre scene. The 10th session is being held from July 13 to 27. Different kind of theatres will be staged such as the Children’s Theatre and Universities’ theatre.
