SITFY announces the members of the watching committe in its 7th edition

 

Sharm El Sheikh Theater Festival For Youth founder and chairman, director Mazen El-Gharabawy announces the structure of the Watching Committee for the seventh edition, which includes -in an alphabetical order-:

 

Critic Bassem Sadik, a theater critic who graduated from Faculty of Arts, Department of Arabic Language, Cairo University, 1996, and subsequently the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, Department of Drama and Criticism, 2002.

 

Currently, Sadik is an editor-in-chief assistant, vice president of the theater department in Al-Ahram, deputy editor-in-chief of the Arts Magazine and a member of the artistic projects committee for the Theater House shows, a member of the script reading committee at the General Authority of Cultural Palaces. Additionally, Sadik’s publications include: “Wallah Zaman”, “Al-Ayady Al-Sahera/Magical Hands”, “the Inspirational Khaled Galal”, “Lotfy Labib: The Songbird, Comedian”, and Director Essam El-Sayed book.

 

The Watching Committee also includes: Prof. Dr. Rania FathAllah, who is an actress and professor of acting and directing at the Theater Department, Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University. Dr. Rania has discussed and supervised numerous Master’s and Doctoral Theses.

 

 

 

Furthermore, she worked as a general supervisor for the department’s graduation projects in acting and directing.

 

 

 

She took part in several juries in theatrical festivals and worked as an acting instructor in the first acting workshop at the Syndicate of Artists between November, 2018 and January, 2019. Besides, she participated in multiple theatrical works.

 

Moreover, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Zaymah is to participate in the Watching Committee.

 

 

 

He is a professor of drama and theater criticism at the Higher Institute of Art Criticism, the Academy of Arts, Cairo and the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Kuwait (beforehand).

 

 

Furthermore, he is a founding member of Masrahna/Our Theater Egyptian newspaper, and the head of the department of theatrical criticism as well. He has multiple publications, such as: “the elements of humor in Badi’ Khayri theater”, “the folktale in children theater”, “the child’s theater in Kuwait”, “the Arab theatrical scene… postmodernism and experimentation”, “playing the comedy strings – Samy Maghawry” and “Tawfik Abdulhamid… searching for surprise”. Concerning directing, Zaymah has multiple works: “Ghanawy El-Khatawy”, “Laylt Al-Omr”, “Moghamaret Ra’s Al-Mamlouk Gaber”, and others.

 

It is noteworthy that the upcoming edition bears the name of the iconic artist Nabil Al-Alfi.

 

 

 

The seventh edition is scheduled to take place between (25-30) November, 2022, in Sharm El-Sheikh. Veteran actress Samiha Ayoub is SITFY’s honorary president and veteran actor Mohamed Sobhy is the president of SITFY’s higher committee.

 

 

Director Mazen El-Gharabawy is SITFY’s founder and chairman and Dr. Engy El-Bestawy is SITFY’s managing director. SITFY is held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture, Dr. Nevine Al-Kilani and South Sinai Governor, Major-General Khaled Fouda.
