CAIRO – 28 October 2021: The 26th Aswan International Sculpture Symposium will kick off on November 1 and will run until December 1.

The symposium is organized by the Ministry of Culture’s Cultural Development Fund Sector, in cooperation with Aswan Governorate. It was supposed to be held in January, but was postponed due to the global pandemic in accordance with the decisions of the Council of Ministers.

This year's edition of the symposium will witness the participation of 12 Egyptian and foreign artists.

For his part, Head of the Cultural Development Fund Sector Fathi Abdel Wahab expressed his happiness that the symposium will finally be held.

It is worth mentioning that the Aswan International Sculpture Symposium is the first and oldest in the Arab region for stone sculpting. The symposium was founded by the Egyptian artist Adam Hanin in 1996 using the famous Aswan granite.

Every year, a group of the most important artists in Egypt and the world participate in the symposium.
