CAIRO – 15 June 2021: The Mona Lisa is Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous painting, which attracts all art lovers.

The painting always raises questions about who the Mona Lisa really is. In this regard, there are many different answers; some opinions confirm that it is Lisa del Giocondo, who was born on this day, June 15, 1479 AD.

Some say that the Mona Lisa came at the request of Florence’s cloth merchant and official, Francesco del Giocondo, who asked Davinci to paint a portrait of his wife, Lisa Gherardini. Lisa did not love her husband, who was married to two before her, and the man she loved died, which explains the sad look on her face.

It is noteworthy that recently, Christie's International Auctions offered, through its official website on the Internet, the famous painting "Mona Lisa Hecking", which dates back to the 17th century, for sale.

It is a painting, whose owner Raymond Hecking, claimed during the sixties of the last century to be the original painting of Leonardo da Vinci, and not the one that is displayed in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

A replica of the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci has been offered for sale in Paris, where it is expected to fetch €300,000, which is equivalent to about $365,645.

Obsessed with the idea of owning the real Leonardo da Vinci painting, Hecking believed that the painting, which was returned to the Louvre in 1914, 3 years after it was stolen in 1911 by the Italian museum woker Vincenzo Peruggia, was not the real Mona Lisa, but a copy of it.

After Raymond Hecking's death in 1977, the painting remained with his family.
