Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism& Antiquities organizes training course for workers of Caliph, Sultan Hassan area

CAIRO - 17 April 2021: Within the framework of the efforts made by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to develop tourism and archaeological awareness among the various categories of the Egyptian people and to raise the human element of workers in tourist and hotel facilities, museums and archaeological sites nationwide to ensure sustainability in improving the quality of services provided, the Ministry organized a training course for a number of workers in the Caliph and Sultan Hassan area.

 
On her part, Dr. Soha Bahgat, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Training Affairs, indicated that this training course was organized within the framework of the Ministry’s training plan, which is being implemented under the name of the "Tourism Ambassadors" program, which is one of the most important training programs offered to workers in tourist and archaeological sites as it aims to Providing employees with the skills and behaviors that must be followed towards the visitor in order to improve the visitor's experience for these places.
 
Dr. Osama Talaat, head of the Coptic and Jewish Islamic Antiquities Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, emphasized the importance of this type of training that is given to workers in archaeological areas who deal with tourists in order to achieve the integration of the elements of the tourism process and the visitor's feeling of welcome.
 
It is worth noting that the "Tourism Ambassadors" program is implemented with funding from the Bank of Alexandria and the implementation of the Rythm Training Institution accredited by the Institute of Hospitality in the United Kingdom.
 
In a related context, the Cultural Development Department of the Ministry organized a lecture for students of a school in Egypt between the ages of 7 and 8, in the French language, through the Zoom app, under the title “Kings and Queens of Egypt”, on the occasion of the procession of the transfer of royal mummies and the opening of the central exhibition halls and mummies In the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.
 
Dr. Rasha Kamal, Director General of the Administration, said that the lecture was given by Mrs. Najia Naguib Fanous, the former Director General of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, pointing out that this lecture aims to connect children with museums, introduce them to the history of their great ancestors, and develop a spirit of belonging to them. And during the lecture, the children’s eagerness to know more information about the ancient Egyptian civilization was noted, especially after the procession of transporting royal mummies.
 
She also indicated that the lecture dealt with the history of the emergence of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, the exhibition collections in it, and the museum's development plan.
